Asian Makeup Haul

25 Jun

My taste for makeup knows no limits! Well, my wallet would disagree. Ha.

From my previous trips to both China and San Francisco, I’ve brought back a few items that seemed just too good to pass. The products stem from a variety of different Asian brands, categories, and uses. What many of them have in common are series of hype and reviews garnered lately on the internet that have prompted me to check it out myself.

Here is the first batch of items (listed from left to right):

  • Etude House Bubble Tea Sleeping Pack: Black Tea
  • Canmake Perfect Stylist Eyes: #3
  • Miniso Hello Kitty Eyeshadow
  • Les Merveilleuses De Laduree Cheek Brush
  • Kiss Me Heroine Make Volume and Curl Mascara: Black
  • Shu Uemura Anti/Oxi Cleansing Oil: Green Tea
  • Etude House Fresh Cherry Lip Tint: OR201
  • KAO Megurhythm Hot Steam Eye Mask: Bulgarian Rose

Second Batch (listed from left to right):

  • [Samples] NOV III Cleansing Foam and Washing Cream
  • Daiso Makeup Brush Holder
  • Daiso Charcoal Face Wash (I had such a great experience with these before that this time, I decided to buy two!)
  • Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner: Black
  • Sana Soya Milk Whitening Milky Lotion

I’m already using the Shu Uemura Cleansing oil and yes, it’s literally one of the best makeup removers out there. No tugging or pulling. It removes all kinds of hard makeup from the face. As for the others, I’m excited to try them out.

What do you think of my haul? Do you recognize any of these items? Let me know in the comments! Thanks for reading!

Top 7 Makeup Products I Can’t Live Without

20 Apr

One of the greatest feelings is leaving the house with a flawless face. I’m talking about that beautiful, fearless, glamorous, “people-must-think-I’m-a-model” kind of confidence that radiates for miles. I’m not born with rosy cheeks, luscious lashes, or a defined jawline. But hey, I can try right?

Here are some of the makeup products that I absolutely can’t live without. You’d think I’m kidding, but wait ’til you step on the puddle of tears that I melt into should any of these gems be discontinued.

Let’s begin by scrolling down!

1. Urban Decay Naked2 Palette

img_5965You’ve seen this a thousand times–instagram, google images, Youtube, other blogs. It’s rather popular. The twelve colors in the palette exude a natural, down-to-earth vibe that complements the everyday look for work, school, and social events. Go light and simple with the left side of the palette, or reach for that bold, evening look on the right side. I find the shades in this palette pigmented, long-lasting, and universal. Heading out of town for a couple of days? Pack this travel-friendly case in the suitcase.

Snakebite and Busted are my favorites

2. Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation

If Tom Hanks thinks he’s found the Holy Grail in The Davinci Code, he’s wrong. The real thing is right here on my makeup table. I leave the house with a layer of this foundation in the morning and return home to see my face the same as before. It provides a coverage that’s smooth and natural. The only downside is that my face does become a bit oily in the afternoon, but I normally blot with blotting paper and then I’m good to go. Another thing is that a little goes a long way. Thumbs up.img_5967

3. NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

I woke up with zits and blemishes after wolfing down some Stacy’s Baked Pita Chips (so tasty yet so evil) and almost didn’t step out of the house. Then, I realize that I had this tube of magic. Not only is this NARS concealer excellent for dark circles under the eyes but it’s also effective for acne and scars. One slight dab, a little blending, and your skin is spotless. This product is perfect for conquering imperfections.

4. Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer

Great for making eyeshadow and eyeliner stay put on your lids (oily lids included)! A tiny squeeze of product goes a long way. One tube can last you for years, or until it expires of course. Not sure if it’s just me. But I find that this smells like cake and pastry which makes it all the more tempting when you, for a moment, forget that this is makeup.

5. Kiss Me Heroine Eyeliner

Like the nails of Cruella de Vil, this eyeliner has one of the finest tips I’ve ever seen. Smooth and flexible, it allows for ease of drawing the regular cat eye or any other style. Once it dries on the lid, no bargain in the world can make it budge, unless it’s makeup remover, of course.img_5973

6. NARS Blush/Bronzer Compact

Looking dead like me at 3pm in the afternoon? Use this pocket-friendly compact to add some blush and contour to your face. I carry this in my makeup bag all the time in case I need to reapply blush after blotting my face. This is one of the most natural looking blushes out there. I found this in the shelves near the checkout line at Sephora (that’s how they get you!) Since this is my main go-to blush, I’m clearly hitting the pan fast.img_5970

7. Sephora Instant Nail Polish Remover

If you can’t stand mashing and rubbing that stubborn polish off your poor nails, it’s time to upgrade to this new innovation. When I first saw this at Sephora, I was skeptical. However, everything changed when my eyes widened like jawbreakers after I slid my colored nails into the bottle and took them out to reveal clean, bare fingernails. What kind of sorcery is this. With the product in my basket, I’ve never been so quick to approach the checkout line.

So convenient! Just dip your fingers

There you have it. My top favorite products that have proven true and loyal over time. What are your favorite products? Leave a comment and let me know your suggestions! I would love to try them out.
